3. Teddy Bear Picnic Day

This holiday came about because of a children's song from 1907 called the "Teddy's Bear Picnic." (Listen to it performed in 1932 by Henry Hall & His Orchestra!) Round up the kids and their favorite stuffies to celebrate. Perhaps the menu calls for peanut butter and honey sandwiches, with gummy bears for dessert. What do kids love more than picnics? A chance to invite their favorite stuffed friends! It's Teddy Bear Picnic Day (yep, that's a thing!) so make the sandwiches, load up the kids, have them bring a few stuffed animals and head to your favorite picnic spot for a fun afternoon out. Or just throw a blanket down in the backyard. Either way the kids will be thrilled — and the teddy bears will surely enjoy their afternoons out. July 10
