The Top 5 Playgrounds or Parks in Fort Myers - Fort Myers Beach

By Arianna Dabu, Macaroni KID Fort Myers - Fort Myers Beach May 12, 2022

Fort Myers - Fort Myers Beach is lucky to have so many great parks and playgrounds for kids. My kids have swung, spun, and raced through many of them ... and definitely have their favorites!

Here’s a list of our family’s top five favorite parks and playgrounds in Fort Myers - Fort Myers Beach and the reasons we love them:

Lakes Park

Location: 7330 Gladiolus Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33908

Features: Trails to walk and bike, workout stations, splash pads, playgrounds, café, train museum, mini train rides, and more!

What we love: We love being able to rent double surreys (4 seater bikes) to ride around the trails and enjoy the views.  On the blazing hot days, we like to jump in the splash pads to cool off.

Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve

Location: 7751 Penzance Blvd, Fort Myers, FL

Features: 3,500 acres of wetlands with a boardwalk and nature center

What we love: You can go on a nice scenic walk and get the chance to observe and talk about the ecosystem with your kids.  The last time we went, we discussed the tree's life cycle, and our kids were singing "happy birthday" to the trees for five minutes straight.

Wa-Ke Hatchee Park and Recreation Center

Location: 16760 Bass Road, Fort Myers, FL 33908

Features: Camps and classes are offered, basketball, cornhole, pickleball, soccer, tennis, volleyball, playgrounds, restrooms, gym, dog park, grills, and more!

What we love: There are so many options to play sports or exercise, in addition to playgrounds and a dog park!

Lynn Hall Memorial Park

Location: 950 Estero Boulevard, Fort Myers, FL 33931

Features: Beach access, Times Square access, restrooms, grills, fishing, piers, food, pavilions, outdoor fresh water showers, and more.

What we love: This park is located right on Fort Myers Beach, next to iconic Times Square, downtown.  It has easy access to shops, restrooms, dining, and more!

Manatee Park

Location: 10901 State Road 80 (Palm Beach Blvd), Fort Myers, FL 33905

Features: Amphitheater, boardwalk, grills, fishing, food, trails, paddle craft launch, pavilions, playground, restrooms, Manatee viewing areas, and more.

What we love: The fact that you are able to rent a kayak and be in the water with the gentle manatees!
